Artist Statement
Through my work, I strive to render a feeling of duality that I attribute to growing up in tandem with the internet. My interest lies in a conflation of personhood and the personification of technology. Each piece explores both positive and negative aspects of digital culture by drawing from feminine digital spaces. How emotions are felt, dispersed and received are continually evolving as more online platforms permeate culture. The unintended consequences that arise from technological discourse inspire each body of work. Through use of play, poetics, and satire, the work looks to depict a complex cyclical relationship to consumer technology.
