Artist Statement
My current focus is two dimensional digital art using smartphones and tablets. Subjects and styles fluctuate but favorites are nature, fantasy, and abstract.
Expect some rural scenes since most of my life has been spent living and working on small farms. I have an interest in increasing food security through Permaculture and similar methods.
I never planned to make anything that might cause pearl clutching, but have been encouraged by the Office Space Collective to venture into more controversial territory. For me, that mostly means political humor or documenting whatever looks like it should go in future history books.
If you look at my work and educational history, there are serious gaps. I was dealing with the aftermath of severe mental health episodes. Many of my memories and life skills were locked away or destroyed. After getting back into art recently, some memories have returned. Nothing else has done this for me. Art is powerful and I intend to find out what else it can do.
